"The mud will always be remembered as will the concert - it was awesome," recalls Sharon LeBlanc of Marriotts Cove, Nova Scotia.

"And Bono as he probably always does, took the opportunity to promote his One Campaign - one person can make a difference and we are all one i.e. 7 Billion people and one nation.

"Even though we were quite a ways from the stage (we were all more than content with that choice) the sound quality was excellent and the screen quality was as well. Most of U2's songs were highlights.

"Two things stood out for me - hearing a taped address by Aung Sann Suu Kyi talking about the need to stand up against tyranny and later, an address by Astronaut Mark Kelly greeting Moncton, talking about what a beautiful world we live in and ending with 'tell my wife that I love her - she knows.' His words were not lost on me and many others - we knew his wife was the U.S. Congresswoman who was shot in the head and is in recovery. All touching and heartfelt.

"I'd do it again in a nanno second!"

Jamie & Tara Green of Lunenburg are our "Main Stage" reporters.
Jamie writes, "I've been a fan since I was 14 or 15 - 25 plus years. My all-time favorite at the moment is Beautful Day. (Jamie & Tara Green photos)

As penned by Halifax Chronical Herald entertainment reporter Stephen Cooke, "The monstrous, spider-like stage, known officially as "The Claw" has dominated the Magnetic Hill landscape for days, as the gleaming spire that pierced its heart acted like a beacon, drawing more than 80,000 concertgoers from across Atlantic Canada, and the Atlantic Ocean, for the grand finale of the highest grossing concert tour of all time."

"We stayed at a downtown hotel," Jamie continues, "and had park-and-ride braclets so we left from the CN parking lot and were bussed to the show in a school bus . . . the atmosphere was electric." It took an hour to get to the site due to bottleneck challenges. They were dropped off at the Magic Mountain gate and walked in at about 5pm. Jamie & Tara had great seats in Grandstand 2, Section 2, Row 19. (Jamie & Tara Green photos)

"The rain had stopped, however the grounds were nothing but mud . We had to cross the main field to get into the Grandstand. It was a bit disappointing as they only had one person checking tickets for a section that had close to 10,000 people...anyway once in our seats it was on with the show...which was epic, truly the most amazing thing." Moncton was Jamie's 10th U2 concert. He's also seen them three times in Boston, four times in Toronto and twice in Montreal. "Their average show for this tour," he says, "was two hours 15 minutes, but this being the final one, was 2.5 hours. They played some extra songs and were a bit more candid with their comments etc. They were very relaxed and having as much fun as their fans." (Jamie & Tara photo)

"Getting out was another challenge as we were on the opposite side of the exit area," says Jamie. "It was close to 2am before we were back at the hotel - it was about 2.5 hours to get out. But everyone expected that right? That's a lot of people funneling onto one street all at once." (Jamie & Tara photo)

"For me personally," Jamie concludes, "it was the best one yet, simply because it was a tour ending show, and it was very emotional for both the band and the fans. We could sense it, we could tell - they gave us everything they had, and truly enjoyed the show.

"You could have taken away all the bells and whistles ("Claw" included) and it still would have been magical," he adds.

To say Jamie Green is a U2 fan is a bit of an understatement. "I bring home a cake every year on Bono's birthday," he admits. "Kids love it, wife tolerates it, but there are worse things I guess . . . " Indeed there are Jamie, indeed there are.

It's been a slice - thanks Jamie, Tara, Johanna and Sharon for sharing!
